the wedding of suvi & jani
Last weekend, I had the exciting opportunity to photograph a wedding couple in Kellokoski, a village about 50 km north of Helsinki. The surroundings were idyllic with an old ironworks by the river and a small but quite special church. I had never visited the area before, so I was very happy to see yet another part of Finland!
We took some portraits before the wedding ceremony. The weather was perfect: warm with some clouds. Here are a few of the photos – I hope you enjoy them!
The happy couple in front of the church.
Taking wedding portraits before and after the ceremony gives quite different results – the level of nervousness and excitement is at its height right before the ceremony. I think the photos worked out really well, though!
The area was filled with beautiful, old trees.
This photo was more of an experimental thing for myself than anything else – a mixture of landscape and wedding photography. I’m quite happy with the result!
The colour of the church wall reminded me of my summer cottage… All in all, a great place to photograph!
the “experimental” one is wonderful!
It’s my favourite, too… 🙂 Thanks, Rose!
I really like the simplicity of the images, and the experimental one is most certainly a success!
Thank you! 🙂 I try to work with the couple to let the photos naturally reflect them, instead of forcing them into a certain mold. It usually works. Thanks for your comment!
Hmm is anyone else having problems with the pictures on this blog loading?
I’m trying to figure out if its a problem on my end or if it’s the blog.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
