the alluring coast of rabat
I travel to Morocco one to two times a year to visit my parents-in-law (yes, I’m lucky!). They have a farm near Rabat on the Atlantic coast and since I’m not the only one in the family who is crazy about photography, we usually make sure we visit different parts of the country to enjoy the view and take some pictures.
Morocco has a western coast, which creates great opportunities to capture the stunning sunsets almost every night. Everyday, it’s different – the texture of the ocean, the colours of the sky, the dance of the clouds. It’s hard to get enough.
I’d like to share with you some of the scenes I’ve captured there. I hope you enjoy them!
The raw power of the ocean is always as astounding. I was drenched in water after this shot, but, naturally, I managed to protect my camera!
The coast is a perfect place to find the combination and the meeting point of raw strength and mirror-like calm.
The softness of the raging sea.
Despite all the beauty I find everytime I visit the Moroccan coast, there’s always something there that betrays what’s really going on – like this deceptively beautiful waterfall of raw sewage water, pouring uncleaned waste into the Atlantic.
These are beautiful photographs – I am particularly in awe of the second image with the rain lashing down and the last with the sewage. Beauty in the unexpected.
Thanks a lot! 🙂 There is indeed a lot of beauty to be found where you might not expect it… I also find it nice to challenge myself to think of what something being beautiful actually means – what kind of value that has in itself.
I’m glad you enjoyed the pictures!
